I love being a mom. I really do. It’s exhausting most days, and I think most, if not all, parents would agree with me that that’s the case. But being a parent is still a pretty wonderful gig.
I’ve known since I was a little girl that I wanted to be a mom. I went back and forth on whether I wanted to actually give birth because I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go through the pain of labor or childbirth. What can I say? The movies and tv shows I watched as a kid greatly impacted my perception of having a baby. And it wasn’t like they were showing C-sections very much in those movies or tv shows either.
Adoption And Fostering Are Amazing
As I got older, I decided I wanted to adopt. There are so many children in the world who are in need of a family, both domestic and international. My dream was to adopt a little girl from China and a brother and sister from India. Then I found out how much it costs to adopt internationally and that it wasn’t inexpensive. But let’s be real here for a second. Kids are not cheap, no matter where they come from.
To this day, I still love the idea of adoption and fostering. I love the idea of giving my kid a sibling, whether it’s through adoption, fostering, or getting pregnant again. Maybe it will happen. Only time will tell.
Sons And Daughters Day Is August 12th, 2022!
August 12th is Sons and Daughters Day. It’s not a day about gifts or cards or anything like that. It’s more of a day to just spend time with your kids and enjoy being with them. Whether they are your biological children, stepchildren, adopted, or you’re fostering, celebrate them and the impact they have on your life.
Take them out to dinner at their favorite restaurant, get ice cream with them, or take them to a movie. Again, what matters most is that you’re spending time with them.
The team with Albuquerque Plumbing Heating & Cooling is comprised of many parents. They have to get their kids to and from school, pack their lunches and get them ready for school again the next day. Then, when they can catch their breath from the daily hustle, they plan things to do with their kids. The smiles on their faces when they get to spend time with their parents are pretty amazing to see.
