Considering Craftsmanship: What type of Workman are You?

You may not be a professional plumber, but you have probably done more than a little work around the house in your day. Your handiness may even be something you take a good deal of pride in. Here at Albuquerque Plumbing, Heating & Cooling we have over 50 years combined experience delivering high quality service to homeowners and renters. In all that time, we have met a lot of interesting folks. Today we will look at a few of the types of workman we have met over the years, maybe you will recognize yourself somewhere here!

The Reckless DIYer: This is an enthusiastic type of workman who would rather act first and ask questions later. He isn’t wasting his time reading Plumbing for Dummies. He is grabbing a wrench and getting to work. He is taking things apart and putting them back together. He may not always get the results he wants, but he always gets results of some kind – both good and bad.

The Precision Planner: This workman is the exact opposite of the Reckless DIYer. This workman plans everything. When he decides to take on a project, he learned everything he can about it. He reads books, researches on the internet, and visits his local home improvement store to talk to the professionals. He looks at blueprints and makes budgets. He may not get things done quickly, but when he does a job, he does it right.

The Procrastinating Plumber: We have all been this type of workman before. Sometimes it is just too hard to get off the couch and get a job started. Maybe we don’t feel like the job is important enough. Who cares if the kitchen sink is draining a little slowly? Who cares of the faucet is just a little leaky? One thing is for sure, the procrastinating plumber always finds a reason to put things off for another day.
