Memorial Day Weekend Ideas in Albuquerque

Honor our military men and women while having some fun as well with these Memorial Day Weekend Ideas in Albuquerque.

At Albuquerque Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling we are honored to pay tribute to all those who have served. We employ several veterans and their sacrifice is something we truly value. There are so many ways to be involved in events this weekend that honor these brave men and women. Here are some Memorial Day Weekend Ideas for you.

Start your weekend off right with some music at the Summertime in Old Town Series on Friday, May 25th. Divino will be rocking the stage from 7-9pm. Bring a picnic and enjoy beautiful Old Town.

On Saturday, May 26th, the New Mexico Veterans Memorial is sponsoring the Honor Flight Show n’ Shine. It is free to attend, and only $10 to compete for a prize (categories in classic, modern, truck and motorcycle). 100% of the proceeds will support flying WWII, Korean, & Vietnam War Veterans from ABQ to DC for a private tour of the memorials built in their honor. Event location is 1100 Louisiana Blvd SE.

On Sunday the 27th, head over to Cliff’s Amusement Park. All Military, Veterans, Law Enforcement, Firefighters, and First Responders Ride FREE! Get a ride free pass for your hero on their website. While you’re there check out Cliff’s Country Picnic. A fun festival dedicated to authentic BBQ, Craft Beer, & Country Music!

On Monday, May 28, the City of Rio Rancho will recognize Memorial Day with a remembrance ceremony honoring the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in military service to their country. The ceremony will take place at the Veterans Monument Park, and will begin at 11 a.m. Immediately following the ceremony, there will be a dedication of the Metro Area First Responders Monument. The monument is located inside the Veterans Memorial Park and includes four black granite panels surrounding the foundation to create a monolith engraved with the badges of nearly 30 agencies.

Whatever you decide to do this weekend we hope you are safe and grateful to those that help us stay that way.
